Origin OF Nisarga:
Nisarga Foundation (NF) came into being in 1997 with its registration under Indian Trust Act, 1890 and has been working mainly with the tribal population of H D Kote Taluk since then. Just 52 kilometers away from Mysore city, H D Kote is one of the backward taluks of Karnataka. Along the boundaries of Kerala forests, HD Kote is an abode of tribal communities in good concentration. Nisarga was a sensitive response to the needs of most of these tribal lots who were displaced and dispossessed by three dams and two National Parks in this region.
